Conveyors
Carcass
The load-bearing structure inside a conveyor belt — the fabric plies or steel cords — under the rubber covers.
The carcass carries the belt tension and gives the belt its shape and impact resistance. Fabric carcasses use plies of woven textile (EP, PN, NN); heavy-duty belts use steel cords. The covers protect the carcass but contribute little strength.
