How we select it with you

When a cover repair is the right call

KK-Fix is the right answer when the belt carcass is sound and the damage is in the cover — wear, a gouge, a longitudinal cut, a scuffed splice area, or worn pulley lagging. It is the wrong answer when the carcass is cut, a splice has failed, or the belt has lost tension integrity. Send us photographs and the details below and our team will tell you honestly which situation you are in before you commit a shutdown to it.

Field application

A belt splice covered and sealed against spillage

On a diamond-mine conveyor, a mechanically fastened splice was leaking fines at the fastener line. The splice was prepared and then covered with Bosworth KK-Fix and reinforcing fabric — sealing the fastener plates so material stops working through the joint. An example only: every repair is assessed on its own photographs and belt details first.

  1. A mechanically fastened conveyor belt splice, wire-brushed and cleaned, with a Bosworth KK-Fix pouch and an angle grinder alongside

01Splice mechanically fastened, then wire-brushed and cleaned ready for sealing.

  2. A person in a hard hat and hi-vis applying Bosworth KK-Fix compound over a belt splice with the kit spatula on a stationary belt

02KK-Fix compound worked over the splice with the kit spatula, in PPE, on a stopped belt.

  3. Reinforcing fabric being embedded into wet KK-Fix compound across the fastener plates of a belt splice

03Reinforcing fabric embedded into the wet compound across the fastener plates.

  4. A cured KK-Fix repair covering a conveyor belt splice, forming a smooth sealed strip over the fasteners

04Cured — the splice is covered and sealed against spillage and carry-back.
